I purchased a new unit from this company and updated a second one. From start to finish the service was excellent. Maureen Mullaney was knowledgeable and quick to respond to all my husband's technical questions and needs for the new unit and our follow up questions. The installation crew was headed by Miguel and you should definitely request him. He takes pride in doing his job correctly and making the customer happy. He is patient and spent a lot of extra time showing me how to use the system and ensure everything was working. I needed a "tweak" to the units and Miguel and his crew came a second time and they were punctual and so polite. Their pricing was very competitive and I do not think you could find better customer service in New York.

When the manufacturer fails to deliver a quality product, Norwest delivers. Purchased an AC in June 2017. They repaired my AC, leaking coolant, to my full satisfaction. Even extended the manufacturers warrant by an additional year. Norwest knows how to keep customers happy. Thank you Maureen and Manny.

While it cost me a lot of time, effort and patience, Norwest ultimately resolved the problem with the PTAC unit it provided. I purchased a PTAC unit installed by Norwest in June 2018 for my rental unit and in June 2019 my tenants informed me the unit was not cooling. Norwest techs made 2 service calls and determined unit was working well. I had to inspect myself and prove to Norwest that the unit was not cooling the space. Norwest removed the unit and I had to pay another source to have a temp unit installed, which made me unhappy and I still think Norwest should have provided a temporary unit. Norwest replaced the compressor and reinstalled the unit. The repaired unit still did not cool and this was during the heat wave when temps in NYC exceeded 110 degrees.
Initially the company told me they could not come for days and could not provide a temporary unit, but after a conversation sent a tech same day to remove unit and install a temporary unit. Ultimately Norwest determined the original unit was defective and had to be returned to the manufacturer and replaced the unit. While I had to spend a lot of time and struggled a bit to be patient and professional, the issue was resolved and the company also dedicated a lot of time and patience to make things right.

Initially my experience was not good. I was promised an appointment for delivery and installation of a new PTAC for my Primary Bedroom today between 9am-1pm. When no one had arrived by 2pm, I called the company to ask if they’d be arriving soon. I was told that they had made a mistake and never put me on the schedule. I was very unhappy with the response at the time, and lack of solutions. So after sweating it out all weekend, this morning's experience was completely different.
The techs arrived very promptly, calling when they were 10 minutes out. Once here, they worked incredibly fast and efficiently, while being really nice. In less than 20 minutes, I have my bedroom back, and happily chilled. They were absolutely wonderful and I am very happy with the final result.
As a final post script- and hour after the techs left- the owner of the company called me to apologize for what had happened and offered a complimentary annual service for my units before next summer, which I gratefully accepted.
So, although we started bumpy... we finished GREAT.
This is how a company stands by their successes and their challenges. I am very happy with how they've handled this, and recommend them highly.

I shopped around and the price was very competitive. Their reputation was good so I went with them.
The service is very good. I asked a ton of questions and got everything answered. They took my calls when I called. Maureen really is the PTAC Queen. Also the entire team was very helpful.
If you're stressing over your nonfunctional PTAC unit, give them a try.

Outstanding company. At every step of the process, NorWest did everything right. These guys are real pros.
(1) Kudos to Maureen for her responsiveness and clear explanations. My AC units broke down in the middle of the COVID lockdown, so I looked online and contacted a few companies. NorWest (Maureen) was the first one to get back, had competitive pricing, and a reassuring attitude regarding COVID precautions. I did read the reviews online, found them encouraging (no reviewer credibly questioned the quality of these guys' work). Coincidentally, a neighbor in my building who had NorWest do work on her PTAC units in the past, spoke highly of them, so I decided to hire them. At first I wasn't sure whether I wanted to repair or replace my units, and I appreciated that Maureen didn't try to up-sell me, she just answered the questions I asked, with honesty and without being pushy. She gave me all the information I needed. Very professional.
(2) Great product. So I decided to replace my units (rather than repair), to avoid more hassle a year or two from now (given the age of my previous units). The Islandaire PTAC units NorWest installed for me are a nice upgrade vs my old units. They are much quieter, more modern, and just seem better built.
(3) Kudos to the guys who did the installation! They were friendly, professional, diligent. They just inspired trust as soon as they walked in. It's obvious these guys know what they are doing. They were fast but thorough, and did an excellent job, in less time than I had expected. They were very clean, too, no mess left behind. I am very impressed with these NorWest folks, their knowledge and dedication, and would hire them again in a heartbeat.
Everything went so smoothly, I had to pinch myself. I know from experience how frustrating it can be to deal with contractors in NYC... These guys clearly stand out. Thank you, Maureen; thank you, Norwest crew!
